Good birthday this year...a 50 dolla mixer yall!

I had a good birthday this year, with a good mix of music/gadget stuff: tuners, strings, CDs, a nap pillow since I'm getting old...thanks ya'll! Click here to hear about my latest gadget and other gadget-related articles/reviews. The item pictured above I picked up with a Guitar Center gift card for like 50 bucks out of pocket (thanks Pete...see his blog here)! It's a Behringer 802 mixing board... You got a mixer for 50 bucks? You either got to be kidding or it's junk, right? Yep I got it for 50 bucks, and nope it ain't too bad neither, although I've only done cursory testing. I'm already quite impressed, and the on-line reviews I've read have been very favorable. If you click on the link, and get it on-line from Guitar Center, you get it for even less. I do a lot of basement recording using different instruments/vocals to my computer and it definitely blows away using an old karaoke deck (which I've been doing). The features built-in to it are amazing, and it's about the size of my home phone base unit. With a simple conversion cable to my computer, it's now pumping my home-grown music into mp3's to be preserved for future generations of hillbillies to enjoy. Read on for the specs.

Yeah, they won't let you redeem them on-line. The Fairfax store was awesome. This dude back in keyboards that looked like Getty Lee helped me, and was extremely helpful. Good customer service makes all the difference, eh?
